Garden Overhaul

Been really busy this week so not had time for crafting, due to the puppy constantly churning up the lawn and eating every plant in sight we decided it was time to have the garden revamped.  Landscapers arrived on Wednesday and the heavens opened.  Despite the bad weather they have done a fantastic job making our outside space very low maintenance and dog friendly

Day 1 (through the conservatory window as it was lashing down)

Day 2 all the hardcore and slabbing done

End of Day 3 - fabulous result
Just need to get some plants in the tubs now for colour.

We are now off to the Lake District for a few days so Brandy has gone to my Mum & Dads to give the garden time to settle.

Monthly Scrapaholix Crop

It was our monthly Scrapaholix crop yesterday, another good day spent crafting and chatting with some lovely ladies.

The kit provided was made up of the following :-
3 x plain cardstock
2 x double sided patterned paper - Basic Grey Kissing Booth Collection
Viva Pelen - Pen in creme

I managed to do 2 layouts from this, the first one being based on this weeks sketch from the Scraproom Blog http://thescraproomblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/april-sketch-challenge-and-winner.html

TSR Challenges

I also used some lace which I coloured with tea to make off white which blended in better with the papers, some Dovecraft glitter letters and a Kaisercraft rub on message.  Swirls were done with the Perlen-pen using a flourish template.
The lace and paper hearts were stitched on my sewing machine.

and lace

the second layout I based on the current sketch from sketches in thyme blog
http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/sketches-in-thyme-design-team-call.html

The title was done on the computer and printed out on safmat and I used a Kaiercraft rub on message, again swirls done with Pearle-Pen and flourish template.

and pearls made with the Pelen-Pen

I really enjoyed using these papers and the Pelen-Pen and am very pleased with the end results.
