Less Is More Challenge Week 17

The challenge this week over at Less is More is to use one of the 5 squares

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/05/week-17-recipe-pick-square.html

and this is my what I have come up with

I've used a Lilly of the Valley stamp and coloured with my new Prismacolour pencils (birthday present from my girls) first time I've used them and I must admit I am very pleased with the effect.

The patterned paper is from the Pampered Pets range by Andrea Jayne Evans supplied by Docrafts.

The sentiment is from a craftwork cards and I've used punches & gems to make the flower spray, all finished off with a some stickles to add a bit of bling.

Heres a closer look at the coloured image

Hope you like it.

Butterflies

What a great challenge over at Less Is More this week, Butterflies now who doesn't love these, so versitile will go with most ideas, anyway I'm waffling here's my attempt

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/05/week-16-theme-butterflybutterflies.html

I'm really loving these challenges, it's making me think outside the box and taking me away from my comfort zone,  keep it up ladies

To create this I've been playing with my alchol inks, I used 4 different colours mixed for the background, the main image is a paper artsy stamp inked with versafine black and embossed with clear powder.

The butterflies were then stamped ontop of another piece of alchol inked card clear embossed and cut out.

I'm really pleased with the overall effect.

Here's a closer look at the main image

The patterned papers are from the Desert Bloom range from First Edition Papers and the plain cardstock from Tim Holtz range by Bazzil.

Embossing Take 2

Taking on board some of the comments on my post for the challenge this week at Less is More I decided to have another go :-

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/05/week-15-one-layer-card-embossing_14.html

I dry embossed the three squares then using a Hero Arts stamp and silver ink I stamped the three images embossing them with clear powder.
The sentiment is done using the same technique.

Plenty of white space so hopefully I've got it right this time.

Embossing

I was so pleased with my attempt at last weeks less is more challenge that I couldn't wait for this weeks to appear.

The theme this week is one layer card with "embossing"
http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/05/week-15-one-layer-card-embossing_14.html

The stamps are all from the Tim Holtz urban chic collection by Stampendous, it was my birthday on Saturday and these were a present from my best friend.

I stamped the swirls with versamark and used clear embossing powder, I then added my distress inks, once dry I stamped the bird and text images using archival ink and embossed with clear embossing powder, I then finished with the leaves and vines again using archival ink.

I feel quite pleased with the result.
I'm also going to enter this in the Crafty Cardmakers challenge 46 which is also embossing

Sketch Thursdays Challenge

The sketch this week over on Sketch Thursdays is for a double page spread, as I had got to do some samples for my monthly scrap crop this coming weekend I thought this would be ideal.

5.12 sketch challenge
http://sketchythursdays.blogspot.com

The kit I've made up contains patterned papers from Echo Park, Bella Road range, I've also used a mask from Creative Expressions which I put through the big shot and then sanded the top layer. Title and swirls cut using cricut.

I really enjoyed using this sketch, hope you like my take on it.

New Challenge for Me

I've often looked at the beautiful creations entered on the Less is More blogspot and thought I'd never be able to do that, however this week I've took the bull by the horns and had a go and here is the result.

The theme is  "Week 14 - Colour Challenge - White on White"

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com

In the photo the velum looks cream but honestly it is white

I've use a crafts too embossing folder and punched out all the flowers using different punches the happy birthday is heat embossed.
I found it quite difficult sticking to one colour however I'm very pleased with the overall effect.
Its my Sister's birthday this weekend so I think this will do nicely.

scrapsketch-friday

Another layout prepared for the Vanilla Crafts Thursday scrappers, this time I've followed the sketch for scrapsketch-friday on My Scraps and More blog http://myscrapsandmore.blogspot.com

Once again I've used papers from the First Edition Up Up & Away range, as you can probably tell I just love the colours.  The ribbon is from the same range and the plain card is the Tim Holtz range from Bazzill.  Flowers made using punches.
Photo was taken a few years ago when we visited the water park at Blanes, Spain.

Hope you like it.

Scrapaholix

It was my Scrapholix Club weekend, this month the kit was made up with papers from Sam's Collection by Scribble Scrabble and included stickles.

My layout from the kit :-

I used a sketch from May's Page Maps

You can see that I've used the stickles to make circles.  Rosettes made using my Tim Holtz die and the letters are thickers which we got in the April Kit.

Another layout prepared for my Thursday Crafters at Vanilla.

I've followed the sketch from So Sketchy for the Thursday Takes Challenge #46 at Sketches in Thyme  http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com/

The papers are from First Edition Paper - Up Up and Away Collection from Trimcraft.  I have stamped swirls all around the edge to match in with the swirls on the patterned papers.  The flowers were done using Woodware and Martha Stewart punches with a little gem in the centres.  The photo's are of my girls having fun on Clovelly Beach last July.

Hope you like it.
