First Christmas Card......

The challenge this week  over at "Less is More" is a sketch

I thought this was a great sketch for using my round cute companion stamps by Jayne Nestorenko and so my first christmas card is born ....

The images are coloured with Prismacolour pencils and glittered with stickles, the centre strip has been embossed using a cuttlebug folder and my big shot. I think the sentiment is from Woodware.  Finished off with a light spray with my irridisent glitter spray from Crafters Companion

I look forward to reading your comments

Sketch 121

After an afternoons gardening in the glorious sunshine I decided to wind down by playing with my new Lily of the Valley stamps
I made my card following Sketch 121 over at Card Patterns

http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/2011/06/sketch-121.html

Papers are from the Henbury Lane collection from Papermania, embossing done with cuttlebug folder on big shot and then distressed with sanding block.  Scallop made using Colour My World templates, glass beads are dewdrops from Crafty Notions.  I've coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils.

These new stamps are just so cute.

Hope you like it, I look forward to receiving your comments.

Monogram

Its taken me a little while to get going this week, sadly we had to have our puppy dog put to sleep yesterday its been a fraught week making the decision as she's been part of the family for nearly 9 years.  However I decided to try and keep busy and take my mind off things by doing a little crafting.

The theme this week over at "Less is More" is Monogram, oh dear this is something I've never considered, its taken some thinking about and I still don't know if I've got it right but here goes.....

I did the monogram and wording on the computer and printed out onto patterned cardstock, pale blue pearlised plain cardstock to match and flowers from my stash

Sketch Saturday Challenge

The sketch over at sketch saturday this week is sponsered by Pollycraft

and my take on the sketch is :-

I've been making some age birthday cards for a friend
so the sketches come in handy for inspiration

The papers which I have had in my stash for ages are from Doodlebug Designs and I thought they went well with the decoupage image.

Fathers Day

Just finished my Fathers Day card for this year, I've based my idea on this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday

http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/2011/06/week-159-11th-june-sponsored-by-simon.html

As you can see I've turned the sketch 90 degrees anticlockwise.

The papers are some free ones I had with my Scrapbook Magazine.

The stamp is of course from Lily of the Valley

I'm also going to enter this in this weeks Lily of the Valley challenge which is "Anything Goes"

One Layer Card

The theme this week over at Less is More is "One Layer", how difficult is this when we are so used to matting and layering, embellishing etc.

Still I've had a go

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/06/week-19-one-layer.html

I started by embossing a square using my embossing boards, I then very carefully using adirondack inks and my dusters used 4 colours to colour the background.  I then spritzed with water to help blend the colours.

Then using a Penny Black stamp and Archival Ink stamped the flower image.  When dry I used some water and a fine paint brush and took off some of the colour in the petals etc

I'm quite pleased with the end result, hope you like it.

Baby Quilt

My time over the last couple of weeks has been taken up with making a baby quilt for my Boss' new baby, Harry John was born on 29/05/11

I've really enjoyed creating this and its the first quilt done using my new quilting frame

Scrapping

I needed to get some samples done for my scrap crop next saturday, time flies and it doesn't seem long since I was doing them for last month.

The kit I've made up contains 6 papers from the Sugar & Spice range from Dovecraft together with bazzill plain cardstock and some chipboard flowers and butterflies/dragonflies.

This is the first sample i've done and its based on this weeks sketch from Sketches in Thyme

http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com/2011/06/sketches-in-thyme-thursday-takes-49.html

As you can see I turned the sketch 45 degrees anticlockwise

Monochrome

The challenge this week over at Less Is More is "Monochrome", something I've never tried before so not sure if its right, but hey ho here goes

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/06/week-18-colour-monochrome.html

I used stamps from Artemio and Butterscotch Adirondack ink.
The sentiment is a Lilly of the Valley

I enjoyed the new experience another technique learned, I just hope it conforms to the challenge.

Scrapaholix

Been to my monthly Scrapaholix crop today, what a fantastic kit, papers were from the Chanteuse Collection from Kaisercraft.

The kit contained 1 x  Eco and 1 x Soprano double sided papers, 2 x cream, 1 x green and 1x brown bazzill cardstock and some bling.  I also purchased 1 x Staccato and 1 x Rondo die cut paper and the chipboard kit to go with it.  It was nice to meet up with the other members and enjoy plenty of chatter whilst working and it was great to welcome back one of the leaders who has been on a 15 month break to Australia.

My layouts created with the papers :-
