Patchwork Challenge

At my monthly patchwork group at Quorn Country Crafts in Loughborough, www.quorncountrycrafts.co.uk we were given a challenge for the Jubilee.  We were given 2 pieces of fabric one red and one blue and the instructions were to use these fabrics along with anything else and make something in red, white and blue.

I've been wanting to have a go at crazy patchwork for a little while and thought this would be a good opportunity so after a little research decided to make two blocks and use them for the front and back cover for a note book.

The base is foundation pieced and then the blocks are embellished with embroidery, lace, ribbon, beads and buttons,  or you can use anything else that you come across.

Here is the finished result :-

I'm quite pleased with the finished result.

Merly Impressions Crop

What a wonderful day I had at the Merly Impressions Crop held at Renhold near Bedford on Saturday,
http://www.merlyimpressions.co.uk/blog/

Chrissy supplied us with wonderful kits and sample layouts made up of the new Kaisercraft Charlottes Dream collection and Merly the cakes were scrummy.

See below my take on the layouts that Chrissy had done

Then after a wonderful buffet tea we had the chance to do a Beyond the Page photo display, once again using the Kaisercraft Charlottes Dream collection with the addition of some lace, flowers and gems.

Me

The challenge over at Merly Impressions  http://www.merlyimpressions.co.uk/blog/scrapbooking/april-2012-challenge/   is to do a layout all about yourself, eeeeeek I very rarely do a layout with just a photo of me so a bit of head scratching went on, anyway here it is, I hope it meets the criteria.

I used the beautiful Kaisercraft Chanteuse collection, a lot of cutting out and hand stitching but I am really pleased with the end result.

Couple of close up shots of things about me :-

Thanks for looking, your comments much appreciated
